AFP Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine AFP process parameters for composite laminates.
• Prepare and verify placement programs and toolpaths using manufacturing software.
• Work with robotic manufacturing equipment and support its commissioning and upkeep.
• Investigate lay-up defects and process deviations, and document corrective actions.
• Write and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions.

Essential qualifications

• A relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace or materials engineering.
• Working understanding of composite materials and how they are processed.
• A structured, evidence-based approach to engineering problem-solving.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with AFP programming or toolpath development.
• Experience with robotic simulation or offline programming.
• Experience inspecting composite lay-ups or laminates.
