Mechanical Design and Tooling Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing tooling, fixtures and mechanical assemblies in 3D CAD.
• Produce technical drawings with appropriate dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability principles with manufacturing engineers.
• Work with suppliers and toolmakers through fabrication and acceptance.
• Maintain design records and revision control.

Essential qualifications

• A relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in a 3D CAD system.
• Ability to produce and read technical drawings.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing tooling for composite manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience taking a design through fabrication with a supplier.
