Senior AFP Cell Technician / Composite Manufacturing Technician

Execute composite manufacturing operations and provide experienced hands-on support for AFP cell preparation, tooling, material handling and production execution.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and tooling according to approved manufacturing instructions.
  • Set up the AFP work area and support authorised machine-operation activities.
  • Follow material storage, handling and traceability requirements.
  • Verify tooling identification and setup instructions.
  • Support AFP deposition operations after appropriate training and authorisation.
  • Record manufacturing data and material consumption.
  • Identify and report process abnormalities.
  • Perform routine operator-level equipment checks.
  • Support manufacturing trials and process development.
  • Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas.
  • Train junior technicians in approved work practices where authorised.
  • Support component handling and preparation for subsequent processing.

Essential qualifications

  • Relevant technical qualification, diploma, ITI or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrable hands-on manufacturing experience, preferably with composite materials.
  • Understanding of work instructions, traceability and process discipline.
  • Ability to use basic measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Willingness to complete the required machine, material-handling and safety training.
